Federal Spending Package Includes Increase In Funding For Chesapeake Bay Cleanup

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- More help is coming to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.

The House has approved a $1.4 trillion federal spending package.

The package includes a 16 percent budget increase for Bay cleanup efforts.

The Senate is expected to pass the measure this week.

Previously, House and Senate leaders agreed to spend $85 million on the Chesapeake Bay Program, in the fiscal year that begins October 1.
