FBI Searches For Baltimore Serial Robber

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A serial robber is terrorizing convenient stores across Baltimore and the FBI says he has been in action since November.

Rochelle Ritchie has details and surveillance video that shows the man dubbed the "khaki robber."

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. They say the man comes into the store and pretends he is going to buy something---then he pulls out a gun and everything changes.

Surveillance video inside a convenience store shows the man the Baltimore FBI Violent Crimes Task Force says is responsible for carrying out a number of violent robberies across the Baltimore area.

"The FBI is offering up to $5,000 that leads to identification and the arrest of the suspect in this case," said Patrick S. Dugan, FBI.

From Baltimore City to the county, FBI agents say the man they have now dubbed the khaki robber because of his attire has robbed a Royal Farm, Highs and a 7-Eleven at gunpoint.

"So far in these robberies, no one has been injured but anytime we have a suspect that pulls a gun and announces a robbery that way, our first concern is the safety of citizens, employees and responding law enforcement officers," Dugan said.

Video shows the man in action. FBI officials say the robber walks into the store and pretends he is going to buy something, only to pull a gun on the clerk and demand money.

"At that time, he will flee the store with cash from the cash register," Dugan said.

Because the robberies are happening across the Baltimore region, the FBI has the support of city police and Baltimore County police in tracking him down.

"We think that by offering the reward and showing the photograph from these locations, someone will recognize this guy and call law enforcement," Dugan said.

Police say the robberies have been happening since November.
