Father and Son Charged In Assault After Funeral

DRAYDEN, Md. (AP) -- Police say an ongoing dispute over land led to an attack by a man and his two sons after a funeral in southern Maryland.

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office says the altercation on Dec. 5 left a man seriously injured after he was run over by a vehicle.

Deputies say an argument broke out at a reception in Drayden after a funeral. Police says those involved got into cars and drove back to the church where the funeral had been held.

Deputies say a man was hit and pinned by a car, and 49-year-old Steven Mason and his sons, 21-year-old Stephen Mason and 25-year-old Stevin Mason, beat him with pipes and a bat.

Stephen and Steven Mason were charged with assault. A warrant has been issued for Stevin Mason.
