Fans To Honor Late Organ Player

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Silent film fans and music lovers are gathering in Frederick to honor the memory of a highly regarded organ player.

The Matinee With Ray event Sunday at the Weinberg Center for the Arts celebrates the life of Raymond Brubacher.

Brubacher died Feb. 27 at age 73. He served for more than 35 years as resident organist for a silent film series at the Weinberg.

Brubacher was also the staff organist for the American Film Institute Theater in Silver Spring. And he was the silent film accompanist for Washington's National Gallery of Art and the Mary Pickford Theater in the Library of Congress.
