Stolen Pitbull 'Barkley' Home Safe

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A Pitbull pup Barkley has been returned home safely after missing for a week from a Dundalk family's backyard on Jeannette Avenue.

The Braun family says their pit bull went missing a week ago.  They tell WJZ Barkley was stolen from their backyard, which has a six-foot fence and a lock that was found busted.

But earlier Saturday, a good samaritan found Barkley in Canton by the train tracks.

He recognized the pup and immediately called the family.

The owner tells WJZ she is overwhelmed and just happy to have Barkley back where he belongs.

"I had so many people share and showed how much joy and love passion and know im not the only one that cares so much. He's not just an animal,  he's our family, and to see other people feel that way is beautiful," says Barkley's mom Robin Braun.

Barkely was in good condition, though where he's been the last week is a mystery.
