Family Of Killed Marine Still Looking For Suspect, Closure

THURMONT, Md. (AP) -- The family of a 21-year-old Marine who was killed by a hit-and-run crash says they are still seeking closure in the crime.

Cpl. William Kyle Ferrell was killed Sept. 29 after being struck by an unknown driver on U.S. 15 near Thurmont. Maryland State Police say Ferrell had been helping a disabled motorist on the shoulder during a rainstorm. The driver remains at large.

Saturday, Kyle Ferrell's father, Dan Ferrell, and his girlfriend, Tiffani Brady, traveled from North Carolina to attend a memorial gathering at the Thurmont restaurant where Kyle Ferrell ate his last meal.

Marine motorcycle group Leathernecks Nation held a fundraiser at the bar last month that raised about $1,700. Saturday, they presented the money to Dan Ferrell.
