Fairleigh Dickinson Edges Mount St. Mary's 85-79

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- Sidney Sanders Jr. followed Sunday's 31 point output against Hofstra with a 32 point burst and Farleigh Dickinson got past Mount St. Mary's 85-79 in a Northeast Conference opener for both teams on Thursday Night.

Matt McDonald added 21 points for the Knights who committed just 6 turnovers in the game.

Mount St. Mary's (4-10, 0-1 NEC) led at the break 43-41 but gave up that lead in the second half due in part to sending Fairleigh Dickinson (5-10, 1-0 NEC) to the free throw line 36 times in the game.  The Knights were good on 29 of those attempts, compared to the Mountaineers 16-of-24 performance from the penalty stripe.

Julian Norfleet, who averages 19.6 points per game, was the high scorer for Mount St. Mary's with 24 points and Rashad Whack finished with 23 points.
