Ex-Fort Meade Worker Gets 8 Years For Sex Crimes
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A former Fort Meade youth center worker is going to federal prison for sex offenses involving two adolescent boys.
Twenty-eight-year-old Anthony Williams II of Severn was sentenced to eight years Friday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. He pleaded guilty in June to abusive sexual contact and sexual abuse of a minor.
Williams will be on three years of supervised release after he leaves prison.
He was charged in 2013 after one victim's mother found sexually charged text messages between her son and Williams.
Williams was a counselor for about eight years at the center. He also taught a program called Passport to Manhood that included annual overnight trips.
Defense attorney Sheryl Wood said Williams apologized in court to everyone affected by his actions.
