Ex-Cadet Gets 4 Years For Stealing Drugs From Evidence Room

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- A former Baltimore County police cadet has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for stealing drugs from the department's evidence room.

Twenty-one-year-old Nicholas Ishmael of Parkville was sentenced Wednesday in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

Ishmael pleaded guilty in January to felony theft and possession with intent to distribute Oxycodone.

Ishmael was arrested on June 24 after an investigation linked him to Oxycodone that went missing from the evidence room. He was arrested carrying $40,000 in cash evidence in a backpack.
