Ex-Baltimore Cop Convicted of Aggravated Assault

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)-- Ex-Baltimore police officer, John Torres was found not guilty Friday of attempted first-degree murder, but was convicted of aggravated assault, according to the York Daily Record.

The 12-year cop was accused of shooting a man multiple times in Pennsylvania in 2014.

Torres was off duty at the time of the shooting and investigators say he and his alleged victim were in some sort of dispute involving the victim's wife.

Torres told investigators as he left his home, the victim was seen driving toward his car at a high rate of speed. That's when he says he pulled out his gun and fired 14 rounds. The shots could be heard throughout the neighborhood.

Torres is set to be sentenced on November 29.
