Elderly Man Found Severely Injured, Suffering From Hypothermia

ABERDEEN, Md. (WJZ) -- Officers found a man suffering from hypothermia Monday morning in Aberdeen.

According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers were called out to the 200 block of E. Bel Air Avenue around 5:08 a.m. for a complaint of an injured animal.

But when they arrived, they heard human cries coming from behind a snow-covered residence.

Officers found a severely injured, hypothermic, elderly man lying in the snow.

The man was carried into his residence and they immediately began treating him.

It was determined he had been outside for several hours in the extreme cold and needed medical treatment.

Officers used a 4-wheel drive vehicle to take the man to an awaiting ambulance. The man was then taken to Harford Memorial Hospital. He's in stable condition.
