Ed Norris: UFC 172

This weekend has been circled on my calendar for a long time. If you're a regular listener of the Norris and Davis show then you're aware that UFC fights are among my very favorite sporting events to attend. I've watched fights in Las Vegas, Dallas, Boston and Newark and am planning to attend one in Brazil when I am able .I raise this point not to brag about my travels but to highlight the fact that the UFC showcases their events around the world. It's a true international sport hosted by the great cities of the world and the fact that Baltimore is home to UFC 172 should be a source of pride for those of us that call this city home.

If you're a fan of the sport I hope to see you at the Arena and even if you're not I hope you realize that this is probably the biggest event there in a long time if not ever. Frank Remesch should be commended for his ability to lure such a sporting event. He has been able the get Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones but in my opinion this is his biggest win. It not only opens the door for future championship fights but is a huge economic boom for Baltimore. Congratulations Frank.

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell will join The Norris & Davis Friday at 9:30am.  'The Iceman' will host an over-21 party at Torrent Night Club in Towson Friday night from 9-Midnight.  Tickets are $20 and available at missiontix.com.
