Easter Celebrated Across Baltimore

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) -- Easter Sunday is a day many families spend time together remembering the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.

Marcus Washington reports many people were in their Sunday best.

It's the day Christians get together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"It's a beautiful day for families to come together. Certainly to go to church, certainly to have a wonderful meal together, but also time to reflect on what Easter is all about," said Archbishop William Lori.

At the Baltimore Basilica, families traveled near and far for Sunday's service.

"We heard that this was a real pretty church and that it had a good service, so we decided to come here," said Summer Williams, from West Virginia.

"It's always enjoyable to spend time with family," said Madison Mays, from West Virginia.

"It's very important that everybody gets together and remembers what occurred today," said Cosma Spassiani.

The Easter Bunny made his dramatic entrance in Owings Mills for families attending Uproar Church Service and this day of fun and games.

But in the end, it's a day of remembrance.

"It's really a message of the healing, the hope and the joy that is ours in the risen Lord," Archbishop Lori said.

Many churches held a multiple services to serve the larger number of people attending.
