Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing 5 Women In Dupont Circle

WASHINGTON (AP) — DC police say a man inappropriately touched at least five women who were near Dupont Circle, a popular nighttime destination filled with bars and restaurants.

News outlets report 36-year-old Jamar Christopher Tillman has been arrested on charges including robbery and sexual abuse. Police say the five women were assaulted Wednesday night.

Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck says the man also stole the cellphone of a sixth woman and then got on top of her. Police say he attempted to force the woman into a sexual act, but was chased away by a bystander. Officers then arrived on scene and took Tillman into custody.

It's unclear if Tillman has a lawyer.
