Duncan Files Bid For Montgomery County Executive

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Former Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan has filed to run to get his old job back.

Duncan officially filed has candidacy on Monday with the county elections board to run for the chief executive post in the county.

Duncan, a Democrat, left the office to run for governor in 2006, but he withdrew from the race when he was diagnosed with depression. Duncan was the county executive for 12 years.

He will be running in a June 24 primary. Democratic incumbent Isiah Leggett has announced he will seek a third term.

Montgomery County Councilman Phil Andrews also has announced he will run.
