Drunk Driver Strikes State Trooper After Hitting Parked Car

NORTH EAST, Md. (WJZ)—A Maryland State trooper is recovering after authorities say he was struck by a drunk driver who was also involved a hit-and-run accident minutes before on Wednesday night.

It happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. when Trooper Charles Tittle's vehicle was struck by 30-year-old Sean Jester, of North East.

Jester came crashing into the officer's car near westbound Old Philadelphia Road, just east of Butterfield Lane while a traffic stop was being conducted.

Authorities say minutes before the crash Jester was involved in a hit-and-run accident where he struck a parked car at East Cecil Avenue at Mauldin Ave. in North East.

Jester is now facing multiple charges including driving under the influence and negligent driving.

Trooper Tittle is a four-year veteran of the force and was released from the hospital.
