Passenger In Car Fleeing From Police Dies In Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- At least one person was killed in a car accident in Baltimore Thursday afternoon after police say a driver fled from a police stop.

The wreck happened at 2 p.m., near the intersection of Bloom and Etting Streets, after a Baltimore Police Department officer tried to stop a minivan for a traffic violation.

Police say the minivan crashed into two other vehicles a short time later.

The driver of the minivan was taken to a hospital, while a female passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person from one of the other vehicles was also taken to a hospital.

Police and fire crews were on scene after one of the cars involved caught fire.

Detectives from the Baltimore Police CRASH Team are investigating this crash.
