Driver Who Fatally Struck Noah Leotta Sentenced to 10 Years

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--The man who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in the death of Montgomery County officer Noah Leotta has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars, according to WUSA 9.

Police said on December 3, Luis Reluzco, 47 had at least six beers and four shots and smoked marijuana before he got behind the wheel of his Honda CRV.

Reluzco later fatally stuck Montgomery County Police Officer Noah Leotta who was outside of his patrol car after pulling over another vehicle.

A witness to the crash said Reluzco never appeared to slow down as he approached Officer Leotta's patrol car.

Reluzco pleaded guilty to charges against him last December.

On Thursday Reluzco was sentenced to 10 years, which is considered to be the maximum penalty.
