Driver Killed When Street Sweeper Rolls Over On I-83

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The driver of a street sweeper was killed on Sunday evening when his vehicle rolled over on Interstate 83 in Baltimore County, according to the Maryland State Police.

Just before 5:30 p.m., the street sweeper was heading north on I-83 near Shawan Road in Cockeysville when it veered off the right side of the road and overturned, troopers said.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old Paul Phillip Pollutra of Westminster, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still trying to find out why the vehicle left the road.

The wreck temporarily shut down all northbound lanes of I-83.
