Drew Nicholas Weighs On The Terps Chances Heading Into The Big Ten Tournament

Former Terrapin Drew Nicholas of ESPN and the Big Ten Network joined the Scott Garceau Show with Terry Ford filling in for Jeremy Conn to recap this season of Maryland basketball. The Terps have overachieved all season and making a lot further than most experts had picked. Scott asked Drew to grade this season for the Terps. "Solid A. I think that just because coming into the season in terms of expectation, I don't think that anybody would've expected the Terps to be sitting in the Top 10, and be sitting in the second place in the Big Ten and hopefully about to make a big splash in the NCAA tournament."

Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon has only reached the Sweet Sixteen once in his coaching career. Terry asked Drew what he thinks makes the difference for a coach to be successful in March. "That's a tough question. I would have to say being able to get your guys to respond in a short period of time. That's the biggest thing when it comes to the NCAA Tournament."

Maryland has an impressive resume for March Madness, Scott asks Drew what the Terps have to do to get a two seed in the NCAA Tournament. "I think that they would be online for a two... So much would have to happen because of teams like Villanova and Gonzaga who is now a two."
