Dog Found After Laying Next To Deceased Owner For Days Finds A New Home

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 12-year-old dog who was laying next to her deceased owner for days before she was discovered has found a new forever home, according to Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter, Inc.

Bear, a Chow Chow/golden retriever mix, first came to the shelter on June 2, according to BARCS.

Animal control picked her up from the Baltimore City home, after getting a call from police.

"It was noted that she stayed by [the owner's] side for at least three days, with no food, no water no potty breaks -- just quietly mourning at her beloved owner's side," according to BARCS.

After BARCS posted Bear's story on Facebook June 9, she has already found a new family to call hers.

Chelsea Hagerty, of Catonsville, took her home Monday.
