Diaper Bank Opening In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore is getting its first diaper bank, which will provide diapers, wipes and diaper cream to the needy.

Officials with DiaperSHARE, the name for the bank, say a regular distribution of supplies to social service organizations will begin Nov. 1.

The group says its initial distribution effort will be fueled by donations received during a series of diaper drives, one that took place on Saturday and others that are scheduled for the month of October.

DiaperSHARE is a project of Maryland-based ShareBaby, a nonprofit that provides clothing, equipment and supplies for children under the age of five to homeless and domestic violence shelters.
