Detectives Ask Public For Help In Solving 2000 Homicide

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects in the fatal shooting of a woman in Silver Spring in 2000.

Fifty-six-year-old Susan Street was found on her front porch of a gunshot wound on Nov. 28, 2000. Police say she was killed the night before. A few months later, a neighbor found a bullet had hit his home; detectives say the bullet recovered from the home was the same caliber as the bullet that killed Street.

And five months after that, police say, a man was shot as he entered his home. A bullet from that shooting matched the previous two shootings.

Two men were seen near Streets home shortly before she was shot, investigators say.

Anyone with information is urged to call Montgomery County Police.
