Destiny Clark Crowned Miss Maryland 2015 In Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Destiny Clark has won the Miss Maryland pageant and will compete for the crown of Miss America in September.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the 23-year-old from Gaithersburg represented Anne Arundel County in the competition Saturday night in Hagerstown. She will receive a $10,000 scholarship, full tuition to Dale Carnegie training, a fox fur coat valued at $4,800 and other gifts.

Miss Charm of the Chesapeake Paige Dutrow was runner-up.

Clark's platform was "Forge Your Own Destiny: The Importance of Self-Discovery and Mentorship for Our Youth."

The Miss America pageant will be held Sept. 13 in Atlantic City, N.J.
