Deputies: Suspect Fired At Man Trying To Serve Paperwork

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A Westminster man has been accused of shooting at a man who was trying to serve paperwork in a civil matter.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that 41-year-old Christian C. Shenk has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, in addition to other charges.

A civil process server told deputies that he arrived at Shenk's residence late Tuesday to serve civil paperwork and was met by Shenk and a woman who told him to leave. The victim says he followed their orders, but while he was driving away, Shenk began firing at his car, with one bullet hitting one of the car's windows.

Shenk told investigators he fired three rounds into the air after hearing a female and a male arguing in his driveway.
