COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Richland County deputies say a man set a puppy on fire in a church parking lot, killing the animal.

Sheriff's Sgt .Brittany Jackamonis said in a news release that a witness called 911 after seeing a man burn the 10-week-old pit bull puppy around 7 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot near Irmo.
