Deputies: 1 Killed, 3 Injured In Frederick Co. ATV Crash

FREDERICK, Md. (WJZ) -- A Frederick County man died and three other people were hospitalized after authorities say an all-terrain vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle in Buckeystown Monday afternoon.

An ATV driven by Kenneth Niblett, 29, of Frederick, was traveling in the 6000 block of Michaels Mill Road about 2:45 p.m. when it veered over the center line and struck a 2014 Kia Soul, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Niblett, who had critical injuries, was airlifted to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment, deputies said. His passenger, Chris Munday, 21, of Middletown, died at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, identified as Patricia Liversage, 45, of Frederick, and her 12-year-old son were rushed to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators suspect multiple factors, including speed and a failure to obey a traffic control device, played roles in the crash.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 301-600-3743. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the agency's tip hotline at 301-600-4141.
