Shortly after 4:30 p.m., a deck collapsed at the 4900 block Bonnie Branch Road in Ellicott City.

Callers reported about 20 people were on a 20' x 40' deck when it collapsed twelve feet onto the ground.

"This is a fluid situation, crews are working to package and transport ten patients," Howard County Fire and EMS tweeted Saturday evening.

They later clarified that 8 adult patients were taken to hospitals. Three to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and the remainder to a local hospital.
