Death of Man Found In Gaithersburg House Fire Ruled Homicide

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a man found dead in a Gaithersburg townhouse fire had been killed.

Montgomery County police said Wednesday that the medical examiner's office ruled 63-year-old Steve Skalabrin's death a homicide.

Police say Skalabrin had multiple injuries to his body.

Skalabrin was discovered March 29 in the basement of the home, where he lived with two other roommates, who escaped the blaze.

The investigation is ongoing.
