The Washington Post reports that the National Weather Service confirmed that four tornadoes hit Virginia's Fauquier and Orange Counties on April 6.

That's in addition to three other April 6 tornadoes weather officials had already confirmed in D.C. and the surrounding suburbs.

The National Weather Service says the four tornadoes in Virginia had maximum winds of 80 or 85 mph.

In Orange County, the tornado ripped metal roofing and siding from a business, throwing some of it about 2,000 feet away.
