D.C. Mom Of 3 Found Dead With Gunshot Wounds, Burns

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A District of Columbia mother of three has been found dead with gunshot wounds and burns.

Metro police say they responded to a call of a fire in the 2700 block of Langston Place in Southeast Washington on Sunday. When they arrived, they found the body of 26-year-old Latroia Renee Smith of Northwest.

Smith had three young boys.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of Smith's death.

Smith's cousin, Taneka Curtis, tells a local news station that Smith was a vibrant woman who loved life and her family. She says nobody deserves to die the way she did.

No arrests have been made. Police are investigating the death as a homicide and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
