HBO's David Scott Shares Former Terp Juan Dixon's Story

HBO Real Sports correspondent David Scott joined Sports With Coleman to discuss the upcoming piece he filmed involving former Maryland Terrapin and Baltimore native Juan Dixon.

Dixon led the University of Maryland Terrapins to their first NCAA championship in 2002 and earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the 2002 Final Four.

After being in the spotlight, more truth to Dixon's past revealed itself. The story was that both Dixon's mother and father were addicts and had died of AIDS-related illnesses before Dixon was 17 years old, leaving him in the care of his grandparents in Baltimore, Maryland.

David Scott goes on to describe how Dixon came to find the truth about his biological father and family members.

Scott says, "I think Juan has come to terms with the public interest in his family story over many years...I don't think it's easy to revisit those painful memories."

The episode of HBO's 'Real Sports' will air tonight at 10 p.m.
