BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)—A Baltimore man considered to be 'Public Enemy #1' has been convicted of murder, announced today by Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

Darryl Anderson is facing life plus 400 years for the East Baltimore shootings in 2013 that left two women dead.

Tracey Leong has the story.

Notorious hitman for the Black Guerilla Family gang Darryl Anderson has been convicted for his heinous killings.

"Last night's verdict will not bring those two young women back to their loved ones, but I pray last nights verdict helps them heal and enables them to move forward with their lives," said Marilyn Mosby, State's Attorney.

The 27-year-old was named Public Enemy #1 after police say he ruthlessly opened fire on three women in 2013 on Elmora Avenue, killing two of them.

"We found that killer in Alabama and brought him to justice," said Commissioner Anthony Batts, of the Baltimore Police Department.

A massive manhunt led officials to Anderson down in Birmingham, Alabama where he was hiding out with a bullet proof vest and gun.

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby applauding the efforts of everyone pulled together to take down this vicious killer.

"If we want Baltimore to be a safer city for people to live and to work we need more acts of courage like we've seen in this case," said Mosby.

31-year-old Tierra Fallin, the co-defendant in the case, also convicted for her role in ordering Anderson to gun down the women because of a bitter dispute. Fallin faces life plus 240 years.

Anderson faces life plus 400 years--Baltimore officials vowing to make an example of him, showing no callous attack will go unpunished.

"And if and when we identify the next public enemy in Baltimore City, we will go after him with equal vigor until we reach a day in Baltimore City where we no longer have to identify a Public Enemy #1," said Deputy Commissioner Kevin Davis, of the Baltimore Police Department.

The sentencing date for Darryl Anderson and Tierra Fallin will be March 24, 2015.
