D.C. Jewish Film Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Jewish Film Festival is announcing its lineup of 64 movies that will be featured this year at theaters across the Washington area beginning next month.

The festival opens Feb. 27 with a screening of Avi Nesher's film "The Wonders" about a bartender who doubles as a graffiti artist. Nesher, an Israeli filmmaker, will receive the festival's annual Visionary Award for his work. Several of his films will be screened throughout the festival.

Another highlight will include a sneak preview of John Turturro's new film "Fading Gigolo," which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Turturro directs and stars in the film, which also features Woody Allen. "Fading Gigolo" will be the festival's Centerpiece Evening film on March 8.

The festival also will feature a focus on Polish cinema.
