Cumberland Police: Man Charged With Kidnapping Girl, 16

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Cumberland police say they've charged a 36-year-old man with kidnapping a 16-year-old girl.

Police say Devin Joyner turned himself in Monday and the girl is unharmed. Joyner is charged with kidnapping, second-degree assault and related charges. He's being held without bond.

Police say they launched an intensive search for the girl last week after officers responding to a report of an assault were told Joyner pulled the girl away from a residence against her will. The girl was not with Joyner when he surrendered, but police say they found her unharmed.
