Crockett Gillmore Will Be Ready For 2016
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Ravens were told at the start of the offseason that tight end Crockett Gillmore was going to need surgeries on both shoulders, but the Ravens recently received some good news come their way regarding the status of injured tight end.
Two weeks ago, doctors informed Gillmore that he doesn't need surgery on the other shoulder. That means his projected recovery time was cut in half.
Ozzie Newsome is optimistic that he will be ready to play by the start of the season. Gillmore received got an accelerated timetable without having to hire a medical professional.
A 2014 third-round draft pick, Gillmore led Baltimore tight ends with 33 catches for 412 yards and four touchdowns in his first season as a starter. Gillmore will likely return to being a backup after the Ravens signed Benjamin Watson to a two-year, $7 million deal.
