Crews Knock Down 2-Alarm Business Fire in Columbia

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- First responders battled a two-alarm fire at a Howard County business early Monday morning, authorities said.

Crews were called out to the scene, located in the 5900 block of Harpers Farm Road in Columbia, about 5:30 a.m., according to Howard County Fire & Rescue.

There were heavy flames and smoke showing when they arrived. It took firefighters less than an hour to put out the flames, the agency tweeted.

No one was hurt.

Crews are evaluating a dialysis center located inside the building for smoky conditions to make sure it's safe for patients.
