Crews Battle West Baltimore Fire On South Morley Street

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Fire crews battled a fire in an "unofficial" assisted living facility in West Baltimore Tuesday evening.

The Baltimore Fire Department says the fire broke out around 5 p.m. at 134 South Morley St., between Old Frederick Rd. and St. Joseph St.

"Upstairs was pretty bad," one neighbor said.

Neighbors told WJZ's George Solis that the home was once used as an assisted living facility.

"They moved out a couple of days ago," one man said.

Firefighters battled the blaze for little over an hour.

At least one other home was damaged by the flames.

Officials deemed the house a complete loss and one firefighter was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
