Crews Battle Massive 3-Alarm Fire in NE Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Nearly 100 firefighters battled a massive three-alarm blaze on Thursday night.

It happened at a warehouse located in the 1700 block of N. Ellwood Ave.

Sky Eye Chopper 13 was over the scene as heavy smoke billowed into the sky.

While the cause of the fire is still unknown, officials believe that mattresses inside the warehouse fueled the intense flames.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. and took several hours for crews to get the blaze under control.

Officials say the fire spread to an adjacent building, that damage is still unknown.

Baltimore City Fire spokesperson Roman Clark tells WJZ he expects to fight the fire into the new year.

No injures have been reported.

Authorities say the commercial building has partially collapsed.
