Couple Charged In Convenience Store Fire

FEDERALSBURG, Md. (AP) -- A husband and wife have been charged in a fire at a Caroline County convenience store they owned.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said Friday that 62-year-old Gary Greenwood and his wife, 56-year-old Holly Greenwood, both of Federalsburg, were indicted on Nov. 10.

Gary Greenwood is charged with arson, theft scheme and other offenses. Holly Greenwood is charged with false/misleading information fraud.

Online court records do not list attorneys for the Greenwoods.

Officials say a four-alarm fire broke out at the Stop & Go Mini-Mart and gas station in Federalsburg on July 1, 2011. Authorities say about 75 firefighters from eight fire companies battled the blaze for 90 minutes before bringing it under control. One firefighter sustained a minor injury.

Damage in the fire was estimated at $400,000.
