County To Review Montgomery College Budget Plan

ROCVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The Montgomery County Executive wants to budget $348 million for Montgomery College's capital improvements plan over the next six years.

The county government's education committee will review the proposal Thursday.

County Executive Isiah Leggett's budget proposal is a $6.2 million reduction from the capital improvement plan spanning fiscal years 2013 to 2018. He attributes this to the "substantial completion" of the Germantown Bioscience Education Center, the Rockville Science East Building renovation and other projects.

County committees will also hear capital improvement requests Thursday from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center and the county's revenue authority.
