Country Group Alabama To Join July 4 DC Concert With Manilow

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Country music group Alabama and singers Hunter Hayes, Nicole Scherzinger and Meghan Linsey from "The Voice" are joining the lineup for the Independence Day celebration on the National Mall, along with headliner Barry Manilow.

"A Capitol Fourth" will also feature performances July 4 by KC and the Sunshine Band, classical pianist Lang Lang and a salute to Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday by jazz singer Robert Davi. Organizers announced the full performance lineup Monday.

Manilow will open and close the concert with a special patriotic melody. The concert also features the National Symphony Orchestra.

The "Capitol Fourth" concert at the U.S. Capitol sets the stage for a massive fireworks display on the National Mall each year. The event is broadcast on PBS and NPR stations from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
