Coppin State Rolls Past North Carolina A&T 70-54

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Andre Armstrong, who made 3 of 5 3-point attempts, finished with 16 points as Coppin State made a season-high 13 shots from behind the arc to defeat North Carolina A&T 70-54 Monday night.

Coppin State (7-13, 4-3 Mid-American Athletic Conference) made 43.3 percent of its 3-point attempts, while limiting NC A&T to just 5 of 22.

Coppin State took an early 24-4 lead and held a commanding 40-23 halftime advantage. The Aggies cut the lead to 43-31 early in the second period, but could not close the gap as Coppin State led 61-36 midway in the period.

Michael Murray and Sterling Smith had 14 points each for the Eagles. Murray also pulled down 13 rebounds.

Richaud Pack led NC A&T (7-14, 3-3) with 21 points. Bruce Beckford and Lamont Middleton added 13 each.
