Coppin State Head Basketball Coach Juan Dixon Talks About Building His New Program

Juan Dixon, former Maryland Terrapin basketball player and current Head Coach for Coppin State Men's basketball team, joined Ed and Rob to talk about his plans for the future of the Coppin State program.

As the Head Coach of Coppin State Dixon hopes to makes some changes. "Our goal is to win MEAC championships, get to the big dance and march on...I see this happening in the future but it's going to take hard work and keeping our local kids home," said Dixon.

When asked how he plans to get kids in the area, and to choose Coppin for their collegiate career, Juan said, "I'm going to be honest with the kids and tell my story, I was in their shoes not too long ago...my basketball pedigree and what I've experienced in life I can really help these kids and teach them the importance of higher education and prepare them for their dream."

Juan also talked about what attracted him to Coppin State for the coaching job and how his life experiences will prepare his players for life on and off the court after college.
