Comptroller Kicks Off Shop Local Tour

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Comptroller Peter Franchot is urging Maryland residents to shop locally over the holiday season.

Franchot is scheduled to tour five stores and eateries in Hyattsville on Wednesday. It's the first stop of his Shop Maryland for the Holidays tour.

The tour is aimed at encouraging state residents to keep taxpayer dollars in their communities and support the state's retail sector.
