Community Reaction on Inauguration Day for Pugh

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The mayor wanted to spend some time with the people she was elected to serve and in fact she calls herself a servant-leader.

Now is not the time to relax.

"I'm ready to go to work. I got a board of estimates meeting in the morning," said Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh.

But first, she visited around the City to say hello to the people she's working for. But it was less hearing her speak and more of speaking to her that voters on her first stop wanted.

"She's one of those people that rose through the ranks, so she knows what it is to be bottom man on the totem pole, now she has a chance , I think she's going to make us proud," said Monica Cooper, a Pugh supporter.

Mayor Pugh was serious about the work, too. She says she's already had conversations with the governor about taking control of City schools and says the governor has no problem with that.
