Columbia Water Main Relocation Project To Commence

ELLICOT CITY, Md. (WJZ) -- A Howard County project to remove a water main from within an embankment of a storm water pond in Columbia is scheduled to begin on or around Monday, January 4.

Excavation and installation of 400 linear feet of the 24-inch water main will take place at the pond in the vicinity of Gerwig Lane and Minstrel Way.

The relocation of the water main will allow for future enlargement of the storm water pond.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-May 2016.

The project will not impact vehicular traffic in the area.
