College Fund Set Up In Honor Of Maryland Man Killed While Jogging

FRUITLAND, Md. (WJZ) -- A college fund has been set up for the children of a 37-year-old man who was struck and killed by a pickup truck while he was jogging near his Fruitland home.

According to WBOC-TV, neighbors of Rob Schultheis are shocked by his death, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Meadow Bridge Road, just south of Fruitland.

"He always mentioned how much he loved his wife, loved his kids,' neighbor Jennifer Adkins told WBOC. "He seemed like such a good, wholesome guy."

In order to help Schultheis' two young children, neighbors and friends set up a college fund, and in two days, more than half of the family's goal was met.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said it could take a few weeks to determine if charges will be filed against the driver.
