College Athletic Trainer Sentenced For Child Porn

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A former head athletic trainer at Mount St. Mary's University is going to jail for making and trading hidden-camera video of a 16-year-old girl.

Thirty-seven-year-old Eric Hansen of Walkersville was sentenced Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court to one year in jail. He also must register as a sex offender for 15 years.

Hansen pleaded guilty in October to visual surveillance with prurient interest and two counts of possessing child pornography.

State's Attorney Charlie Smith says Hansen put a camera in his home bathroom last year to record video of the visiting girl undressing. Smith says Hansen then traded the video online for child pornography.
The Catholic university says it fired Hansen in May 2013 after officials there learned about the investigation.
