Coleman: "A Lot Of Pressure" On Rookie Stanley

Our own Jerry Coleman aka "The Lantern" joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn after covering the first day of Ravens training camp today.

The Ravens agreed to terms on a one-year deal with veteran offensive lineman Jake Long yesterday, but have not officially signed him after there were some complications with his physical today. Coleman talked about the potential signing. "It wasn't an indictment of Ronnie Stanley, but they want some depth and want to see if he can regain his form when he was a top pick, but the knee remains a problem."

The Ravens drafted offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley with the sixth overall pick in this year's draft. Coleman discussed the pressure that is on the young rookie. "There is a lot of pressure on him. Not only to protect Joe [Flacco], but to produce right away as being a guy that they went ahead and jumped at at the top of the draft. He knows that. So far he has looked good in training camp."

Last season the Ravens had the worst pass to run ratio in team history. Coleman said he expects the team to be much more balanced this year. "I would think they will be a lot more run heavy. I think it's going to be running back by committee to be honest with you and they're just going with the hot-hand like he's done in the past."
